By placing a cross above Sarajevo, Serbian Orthodox Church, SPC, is abusing a symbol of suffering, and glorifies crime as the most profound statement of its being, said Metropolitan of Montenegrin Orthodox Church Mihailo. “With the abuse of a monumental cross as a symbol of suffering, placed above Sarajevo, SPC vulgarly derides the dignity of thousands of victims of Sarajevo and glorifies crime as the most profound statement of its own being,” Mihailo said in a statment.
Montenegro’s membership in NATO alliance will cost half a million euros per year, and it is several times lower than the current allocation for the maintenance and development of individual military-security sectors, Slovenian ambassador in Podgorica, Vladimir Gasparic, said. He believes that joining NATO is a political decision and after the summit in Wales it is “almost certain” that Montenegro will be a full member of the Western military alliance by the end of 2015.
Montenegro and Italy have great potential for deepening economic relations, which are the foundation of bilateral relations, Montenegro’s Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and Italian Defence Minister Roberta Pinotti pointed out at Wednesday’s meeting in Podgorica. PM Djukanovic thanked the Italian Government for its support and cooperation in the process of achieving Montenegro’s strategic goal – the accession to the NATO. Minister Pinotti reiterated the strong support of Italy for Montenegro’s NATO bid, and welcomed the results achieved to date. Apart from being a top priority for Montenegro, the NATO integration is of significance for the entire region, Italy and the Alliance as well, she noted.
