After a strong earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale, which hit the north of Montenegro yesterday, the night was generally calm in Plav, Gusinje, Andrijevica and Berane.
Plav area was shaking again this morning but the earthquake was of a lesser strength, 2.5 on the Richter scale. Trembling could not have caused damage as in yesterday’s earthquake.
According to the president of the municipality, over 120 houses were damaged in Plav. The scale of material damage will be known in the next few days.
The president of the municipality of Plav Orhan Sahmanovic said that this local self-government will certainly help the citizens within the possibilities they have.
“I believe that together with the Government we will repair all the damages on the existing facilities. Citizens of Plav are very poor, few are able to afford to renovate the houses. We will try to repair the worst cases,” Shahmanovic said for TVCG.
