MUP helicopters to rescue hurt Belgian tourist



Directorate for emergency situations will send a helicopter early tomorrow morning to transport Belgian tourist who injured his ankle in Međeđa near Žabljak.

Injured tourist, along with a group of 8 more Belgian citizens, was found today around 16h.

First to arrive on the scene was Mountain rescue service of Montenegro.

Tourists lost their coordinates today around 11h, and asked help from Directorate for emergency situations by calling the emergency phone number 112.

“Due to the difficulty of transport and injury, it was decided that GSS team take the tourist to the mountain home Škrka. He is expected to arrive late tonight. He will be transferred to a hospital tomorrow morning”, they said in MUP.

The helicopter could not have been sent today due to unfavorable weather conditions in the afternoon hours.
