At today’s Congress of Socialist Democratic Party, SDP Delegate Kemal Canovic from Plav denied the writing of the daily Dan that his son Kenan was on the battlefield in Syria.
After the keynote presentation at the SDP Congress, Kemal Canovic said to the reporters that his son Kenan studied in Sarajevo, that he hasn’t been on the battlefield in Syria, and that he has never supported that ideology.
“That’s why I had to bring him and clear my family name,” Canovic said.
He said that daily Dan deliberately published the text due to his views regarding the SDP, and that the daily intended to tarnish his reputation. Canovic called daily Dan a Montenegrin Charlie Hebdo, stating that it spread Islamophobia in order to increase print.
“My message to these monsters, journalists and their helpers from the Interior Ministry (MUP) of Plav is that they will not succeed. These are not nineties, neither is this the state of the nineties. I believe in this state and I ask the Minister of Police and all relevant authorities to investigate the Interior Ministry of Plav and to launch an investigation against the people who gave this monstrous statement. I hired lawyers and this dispute will get a court epilogue,” Canovic said.a
