Director for Western Balkans in the European Commission Directorate General for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy, Jean-Eric Paquet, will pay his first official visit to Montenegro from 9 to 11 February.
During his first visit to Montenegro, together with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Paquet will visit the border crossing Bozaj between Montenegro and Albania.
Upon completion of the visit, on Wednesday, Paquet will attend a press conference at the EU Info Centre.
The Delegation of the EU reminded that the reconstruction of border crossings Bozaj/Hani i Hotit, for which the EU will provide one million euros with the aim to solve the problem of traffic congestion in this zone, will start this year.
“Within the same project of cross-border cooperation, the EU also funded the construction of a new joint border crossing Grabom – Zatrijebacka Cijevna in the amount of 500,000 euros. Work on the Albanian side will provide road links to both crossings. The value of EU financial contribution is the same in Albania. The construction of a new joint border crossing Grabom – Zatrijebacka Pipe will significantly reduce the travel time from Podgorica to areas that gravitate to Plav and Andrijevica”, they said.
