Pavicevic made contracts without approval

Special Public Prosecutor’s Office issued an order to conduct an investigation against the former mayor of Bar, Zarko Pavicevic and former Director General of the construction company ZIB, Daniela Krkovic.

Pavicevic is suspected to have made the continued criminal offense of abuse of office while Krkovic is suspected to have made the continued criminal offense of abuse of official position by aiding and continued criminal offense of forgery of official documents.

The Prosecutor’s Office suspects that the two committed crimes in order to obtain illicit material gain for the legal entity “ZIB” AD Bar worth nearly two million euros, which is the amount of the damage caused to the Municipality of Bar. In addition, Pavicevic is suspected to have made the damage to the Municipality of Bar amounting to around 930,000 Euros.

“It is suspected that Z.P. in the period from 2007 to 2014 in Bar, as a public official, in order to obtain material gain for another legal entity, “ZIB” AD Bar, abused his authority, and exceeded the limits of his official powers when he, without the approval of Municipal Assembly Bar for borrowing and issuing guarantees, concluded an agreement on financing the construction of residential and commercial building in Bar, to address the housing needs of employees in several government institutions. The suspect through cited contract obliged the Municipality of Bar to guarantee regular payment of loans for construction of the building A6 in Bar “, the statement said.

The Prosecutor’s Office suspects that Krkovic as director of the ZIB, acting on behalf of the legal entity, helped Pavicevic to obtain material gain to the company “ZIB ” AD Bar, by concluding agreements on bank loans.

The Prosecutor’s Office, under the Law on Liability of Legal Persons for the Crime, launched an investigation against the company “ZIB ” AD Bar in bankruptcy, because of the continued criminal offense of abuse of power committed by means of support.
