The process of ratification of the Protocol on Montenegro’s Accession to NATO in the German Bundestag will not last long, since Germany wants to see Montenegro in NATO and the EU, said new German ambassador to Podgorica Hans Günther Mattern during a meeting with the Speaker of Parliament Darko Pajovic.
Pajovic thanked or German continued support for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Montenegro.
He also said he hoped the good cooperation would continue in the coming period and be further strengthened, particularly in the area of economy.
The officials agreed that regardless of the challenges, people want to see solutions and they can be found only through compromise, adding that there is no better place for the compromise than the Parliament.
Pajovic presented the results of the Parliament of Montenegro in the past two months, noting the importance of active participation of all political parties in this process.
“He pointed out that all of this resulted in political stability in the country, which enabled the continuation of EU and NATO integration, a prerequisite for ensuring conditions for free and fair elections and further democratisation of the country”, Pajovic’s office stated.
