The offices of Prosecution will work in all municipalities on Election Day, and would react immediately after report of possible violations of procedure is given, Chief State Prosecutor Ivica Stankovic said.
At the civil class organized by the Center for Democratic Transition (CDT) within the campaign “Vote freely’’, Stankovic said that the Prosecution would try to respond to citizens’ requests as quickly as possible.
” Legitimacy of the state and society is based on free elections. Electoral rights are the foundation of functioning and the partition of powers in the state. The law prohibits the buying and selling of votes, threats and blackmail voters, destruction of voting materials, voting on behalf of others and voting on more than one polling stations, “Stankovic reminded.
Asked how citizens, members of polling station committees or witnesses of violation of election rules can report irregularities to the prosecution, Stankovic said that criminal charges may be filed directly or electronically.
He said that emergency services in all prosecutors’ offices will be organized during the election day.
