Kosovo’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo Hashim Thaci met in Podgorica with the Montenegrin officials. Thaci met with President Filip Vujanovic, Parliament Speaker Ranko Krivokapic and Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic. Thaci said that the friendship between Montenegro and Kosovo is older than the two countries and that it can serve as an example in the region. After speaking with top officials of Montenegro, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo Hashim Thaci held a press conference with his Montenegrin counterpart Igor Luksic. Thaci said that the Montenegrins in Kosovo in 2015 will be included in Kosovo’s Constitution and that they are already part of Kosovo institutions.

Minister Luksic said that today’s meeting was an expression of good neighborly relations and that he talked with the Minister Thaci about the return of the displaced, demarcation process, about the economic cooperation as well as the Euro-Atlantic path between the two countries. The process of demarcation of the border between Montenegro and Kosovo has been resolved more than 90 percent and up to the beginning of spring it will be completed in fully, it was announced after the talks.

Dissatisfied with the arrival of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo Hashim Thaci in an official visit to Montenegro, the Federation of Associations of displaced in Montenegro have organised earlier today near Vile Gorica in Podgorica a protest which was attended by about 300 people.

Because of the protests police have intensified forces in Podgorica. Responding to a reporter’s question on how he comment on today’s protests on the occasion of his arrival in Podgorica and the specific charges against protesters linking him with war crimes, Thaci said that Montenegro is a democratic country and that everyone is entitled to express their views.
