Minister of Foreign Affairs Srdjan Darmanovic is sure that the Russian tourists will continue to come to Montenegro and that disagreements between the two countries over NATO will not seriously affect this economic branch.
Asked to comment on Russia’s media campaign to discourage the arrival of Russian tourists on vacation in Montenegro, Darmanovic said that political campaigns against the economic cooperation never give good results.
He said tens of thousands of Russian tourists visit Montenegro each year: “They were and are now welcome to Montenegro and they were able to see the beauty of our country and experience our hospitality”.
“We are confident that the Russian, like other tourists will continue to come to Montenegro and the Adriatic Sea, and that our current political disagreements with the Russians about our membership in NATO will not seriously affect this economic branch,” said Darmanovic.
After the meeting with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn, Darmanovic stated that Luxembourg supports Montenegro in the European and NATO integration.
Darmanovic added that Luxembourg has significantly helped Montenegro with it’s economic problems, too.
“We are linked by the fact that there are about eight thousand of our compatriots in Luxemburg,” said Darmanovic.
He also said that the relationship between the two countries is friendly.
“We will work to introduce a new flight on the route Podgorica – Luxembourg because one Luxembourg company is very interested,” said Darmanovic.
