The Social Democratic Party (SDP) must appear independently in the upcoming parliamentary elections, said party vice-president Rifat Rastoder.
“My commitment and vision is that the SDP should appear independently at the parliamentary elections in order to strengthen and train for a quality alternative to the leadership in future creation of Montenegro’s path,” said Rastoder for the Dan.
Commenting on relations of SDP with the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) he said that the coalition does not function as in the previous period.
“It is obvious that the relations between the SDP and DPS are at lower level than in it was in many years of the ruling coalition functioning. All these differences are not yet up to the level that would jeopardize the functioning of the coalition government in the wake of the most important international obligations of Montenegro” said Rastoder.
According to him, everything indicates that, because of the upcoming important international tasks, it was required to maintain the functioning of the coalition.
He added that for now all indicates it would be the case, at least until the end of the year or until the decision on the invitation of Montenegro for membership in NATO was made.
