Local parliament was constituted today in Budva. Veselin Markovic from the Socialist People’s Party (SNP) was elected president of the Municipal Assembly, reports TV Montenegro.

Before Markovic’s election, councilors’ mandates were verified by announcing the results of the local elections held on October 16.

The Assembly noted the termination of the mandate of Boro Lazovic, former President of the Budva Municipal Assembly.

Markovic said they “would try all together to contribute to the development and prosperity of Budva”.

“I apologize to the representatives of the CDU who left the session as there were omissions in the organization of the meeting, the hall has no national flags and flags of Budva. There is no obligation by the Rules of Procedure to play the national anthem, but why not, it would be nice if it was the case,” Markovic said.

The Democrats and the Democratic Front in Budva have seven councilors each, the coalition “Budva has to” – the URA, SDP and LP has one, while the coalition “The Storm wakes up Budva” – DEMOS, SNP has two councilors.

The DPS will have 12 councilors, the CDU three and the SD one representative in the new parliamentary assembly.
