Georgia largely supports Montenegro on its path towards EU and NATO integration, announced today in Podgorica the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Tamar Beruchashvili.
Beruchashvili, who is in an official visit to Montenegro, met with Montenegrin counterpart Igor Luksic and President Filip Vujanovic.
Expressing confidence about the possibilities of improving cooperation in all fields, especially in the economic sphere, president Vujanovic said that cooperation between the two governments, chambers of commerce and employers’ associations should be continued and intensified.
“The President also presented the European and Euro-Atlantic achievements of Montenegro, stressing the importance of intensified and focused dialogue with NATO, with the expectation that this year we would get a membership invitation”, it was announced from the office of President Vujanovic.
Beruchashvili have agreed that it is needed to better exploit the possibilities of economic cooperation, as well as to improve communication between citizens, why the contractual base between the two countries should be improved.
Earlier today, she has met with Luksic and two colleagues said Montenegro and Georgia have the same integration goals.
“Georgia is largely support Montenegro on its path towards EU and NATO integration. Also it supports Montenegro to be invited to membership by the end of the year, “she concluded.
