Sutorina cannot be part of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Sutorina cannot be part of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), because it brings out the rights of the Badinter Commission, which does not mention the borders of AVNOJ Yugoslavia, said BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Zlatko Lagumdzija.

He believes that BiH with the geographical, historical and political point of view has the right to Sutorina. Badinter Commission’s is the arbitration body that was established in 1991 by the Council of Ministers of the European Economic Community (now the EU), which task was to deal with the contested legal issues and contribute to the peaceful settlement of the crisis in Yugoslavia. Lagumdzija on his blog wrote that BiH can not bring itself in a position that in any way, and particularly with the decision of Parliament, doubts about the relationship to the Badinter Commission, reports daily ‘”Vijesti”.

In Badinter opinion it is stated that “people have the right to self-determination, human rights and freedoms, but without modification of the boundaries at the time of independence unless the States agree otherwise”
