The initiative related to Sutorina is a result of internal fluctuations in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and the issue will not affect relations between the two countries, the Montenegrin Minister of Interior Rasko Konjevic has said.
“It is important that the citizens of Montenegro, the international community and regional countries realize that Montenegro has correct regional policy and that we are recognized as such by the international community”, said Konjevic in parliament.
He added that Sutorina issue would not affect the relations between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, reminding that the two countries recognized each other within those borders.
Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina have completed the demarcation in May last year in Sarajevo, agreed and initialed the document on border issues.
The two governments are in June and in November, established the proposal of the State Border Treaty, under which Sutorina, coastal panhandle near Herceg Novi, remains a part of Montenegro.
