Committee for Defense and Security expects the prosecution to promptly provide an institutional response and the legal evaluation of events, which resulted in several injured police officers, journalists, citizens, as well as damaging of material goods, in order to protect the constitutional order and the rule of law.
That is one of the conclusions of the Committee for Security and Defense, brought at the session held late last night in connection with the security situation on the protest of the Democratic Front.
In favor of the conclusions were MPs of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Positive Montenegro and the Bosniak Party while the Socialist People’s Party (SNP) MP Snežana Jonica and independent MP Velizar Kaluđerović were against.
The session was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs Rasko Konjevic and Police Director Slavko Stojanovic. Members of the Committee of the Democratic Front did not attend the meeting.
The conclusions also state that the Board of the Ministry of Interior requires review, through procedures prescribed in the regulations, of the legality of some of the undertaken measures and the actions of individuals, in order to determine the possible overruns or abuse of authority and sanctioning the perpetrators.
The Committee believes that political dialogue is necessary but within the institutions of the system, believing that the dialogue will enhance mutual trust and confidence in the public institutions.
