The political, security and economic situation in Montenegro is stable, it was announced after a meeting of the National Security Council, which was held two days ago and chaired by the Council President Milo Djukanovic.
As Government announced it, the security situation in Montenegro with special emphasis on the situation in Kotor, was discussed at the session.
“It was assessed that the political, security and economic situation in Montenegro is stable. The President of the Council, concluding the discussion, said that in order to anchor a sense of safety and legal security of the citizens of Montenegro, investors and tourists, the activities of the state against organized criminal groups operating in Montenegro need to be strenghtened,” the statement said.
In this sense, the Council concluded that, as stated, it is necessary to improve the functionality and cooperation of the law enforcement authorities in order to efficiently counteract the challenges of organized crime.
“It was concluded that, for the same reason, it is necessary to look further into existing capacities and organizational structure of the Special Prosecutor’s Office and the Police,” it was stated from the government.
