Panel of High Court judges has validated the indictment against leaders of the Democratic Front, Andrija Mandic and Milan Knezevic, in the state coup case initiated by Special State Prosecutor’s Office.
“The case will be handed to the acting judge today, and the main trial will be scheduled within two months,” the Higher Court in Podgorica said.
Beside the DF leaders, Mandic and Knezevic, as well as Mandic’s driver Mihailo Cadjenovic, the Special State Prosecutor’s Office’s (SDT) indictment includes two Russian nationals Eduard Shishmakov and Vladimir Popov, and Serbian citizens Milos Jovanovic, Nemanja Ristic, Predrag Bogicevic, Bratislav Dikic, Kristina Hristic, Branka Milic, Milan Dusic, Dragan Maksic, Srboljub Djordjevic.
According to the indictment, on 16 October last year a coup was prevented in Montenegro.
At the same time, the defense in the case of a “state coup” earlier assessed that the indictment was groundless and arbitrary.
