At the beginning of the trial, Vlatko Vucelic, a Montenegrin citizen who was arrested in Germany with a car full of weapons a week before the last year’s terrorist attacks in Paris, admitted that he was smuggling weapons, but said he did not know what it was supposed to be used.
On 5 November last year, police stopped Vucelic on the highway between Salzburg and Munich. The navigation system of his car showed he was driving from Montenegro, via the Croatia and Slovenia, and that Paris was his destination.
In his “golf”, police found arsenal of weapons, including eight Kalashnikovs, pistols, hand grenades, explosives and detonators.
He has been accused of transporting the weapons to Paris in order to commit serious but unspecified acts of violence.
