The Parliamentary Committee on Security unanimously supported the Bill on the Army, which envisages, inter alia, the voluntary military service with weapons.
Defense Minister Predrag Boskovic announced that voluntary military service should last six months.
“For the first time, voluntary military service with weapons has been prescribed for a period of up to six months based on a public announcement,” Boskovic said.
State Secretary at the Ministry Slobodan Filipovic said that they expect the introduction of the military service from 2019.
“This is a good potential for future reception of soldiers serving under contract,” said Filipovic.
