Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic and Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic sent a telegram of condolences to the President and Prime Minister of France, Francois Hollande and Manuel Valls, on the occasion of the terrorist attack in Nice.

“Please accept my sincere condolences on the account of the terrorist attack in Nice that caused the tragedy with great loss of human lives”, said Vujanovic.

He stressed Montenegrin citizens are deeply shocked by the tragedy and share the grief of the citizens of France.

“Deep sadness is particularly heavy because many of those killed were children who have come to celebrate Bastille Day. Montenegro is strongly with France in these challenging times for the fight against terrorism, which must be eradicated forever”, reads the telegram.

In his telegram to the prime minister of France, Mr. Djukanovic said that this is an attack on democracy.

“This senseless act of terrorism on a day when France marked its national holiday, is not only an attack on your country, but also on liberty and democracy as universal achievements of modern civilization. I want you to know Montenegro is with you in these difficult times, alongside many other friends and partners of the great Republic of France and the great French nation”, reads the prime minister’s letter.
