Prevlaka does not burden relations between Montenegro and Croatian, said Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic, stating that he expects the demarcation will be completed in the near future.
“I do not consider the delimitation of Montenegro and Croatia regarding Prevlaka an emergency or burden for the relations between the two countries”, said Vujanovic in Niksic.
According to him, he never experienced the issue of Prevlaka as open, among other things, thanks to the interim regime from 2002 with not a single incident.
“In communication with Croatia never appeared a request to accelerate the issue solving, nor to exclude the possibility of further talks to reach an agreement. I think it is not possible to reach agreement on this issue, but I am convinced that we will define the issue and commit ourselves to the enforcement of that decision in a quality way, through an agreement to the International Court of Justice in The Hague ” said Vujanovic.
He believes that the issue of Prevlaka “in no way could strain relations between the two countries”.
“We have an agreement, and in the Balkans, as it is known, people do not easily agree, but they pretty easy get into a misunderstanding,” concluded Vujanovic.
